Saturday I just got back from the Youth Ambassador program for the American Association for Nude Recreation (www.aanr.com) and it was AMAZING! I met 21 people that were my age and want the same goals. Now I don't feel so alone anymore and I have to say it feels good to not feel so alone. I received training in promoting naturism and I even got practice in talking to textiled strangers on the subject. I think for the purposes of GNI we have the events and activities for all ages, but the problem that GNI has is that people don't know it exists. I spent ALOT of time in Florida talking about GNI in general and handing out information about the group. If there's a straight naturist that knows a gay person intrested in the lifestyle they will most likely find GNI. One thing that I noticed that AANR had to promote the lifestyle and get the word out of their existence was they had ALOT of free stuff to give away - items such as frisbees, emery boards, pins, and other items let people know that this organzation is here. They also do a lot of advertising in popular pubications as well. Word of mouth goes far, but something on print goes even further. We shouldn't be the Gay Naturist community's best secret; we should be common knowledge.
More ideas to come.
